The Senior Center is used for meal for the elderly and small events. We requested 5000. from Ala-Tom RC&D to repair rotten boards and paint the building. With partnering with Ala-Tom RC&D, the town can preserve the building.
Monroe
Recreation/Playground Equipment at J.F. Shields High School
| This project will be a separate fenced in area (old baseball field) at the school. This area is being designed for children to play, run, jump, and support physical coordination and flexibility and enjoyment. It will accommodate children in grades kindergarten through sixth. |
Excel Community Center
The Town of Excel strives to provide a meeting place for ball teams, community functions and family reunions to gather in a safe environment. The Community Center was in desperate need of tables and chairs. with the grant from Ala-Tom RC&D, we purchased 11 tables and 44 chairs.
Jones House remediation
The Jones House had major termite damage. It has been repaired, treated and is now termite free. We have contracted Lewis Pest control to maintain and install permanent Sentricon baiting stations.
Ongoing efforts to secure future funding and maintain upkeep are now in place.
Economic Feasibility
This project was created to reduce costs associated with marketing and promotional materials by eliminating the need to retain professional photographers and graphic designers for services. This project allowed the Monroeville Monroe County Economic Development Authority to provide photography and design support to other entities working to promote Monroe County.
