Millry High School students are now planting crops in a new high-tunnel greenhouse that was recently constructed by the Ala-TomRC&D. Teachers, staff, school board members and RC&D members gathered on Feb. 28 to celebrate Millry High’s selection as one of 10 schools in Alabama to be approved for the high-tunnel greenhouse pilot program.

Southwest Alabama Tourism Initiative
Nature and heritage based tourism provides a positive economic impact in our region and statewide. A project of the University of Alabama Center for Economic Development (UCED) highlights all the things to see and do in our region, promoting civic pride within the area and attracting tourists and their dollars from outside the region.
Utilizing nature and heritage based tourism is an important economic development strategy, UACED will develop and distribute promotional material for the area. (All 9 counties)
