HHS Varsity Girls Basketball Spirit Packs
The objective of this project, is to purchase spirit packs for the Hillcrest High School Varsity Girls Basketball Team in Evergreen AL. They are in need of complete basketball uniform sets for each of its players for the upcoming season. This includes the uniforms, warm-ups, shoes, socks and backpacks. The Varsity Girls Basketball Team has a rich tradition of winning. In the last six years; they have a 91-38 record, 3 Area Championships, 1 Final Four Appearance, 1 Regional Championship, 1 Sweet Sixteen, 2 Elite 8’s, & 2 Sub-Regional wins. However, with all of the great accomplishments that have been made by the girls’ basketball team, due to Covid our budget does not allow for the purchase of new uniforms. With the success of our basketball program, our girls deserve new uniforms. Many of these players participate in multiple sports, therefore, sometimes causing a strain on the parents/guardians. In the past, although we have had numerous fundraisers, parents and coaches have still had to contribute money from their own pockets to help cover team expenses.
Butler PD Car Cameras
The crime rates in the City of Butler need to decrease, and the police department lacks the updated technology to expand their safety resources. This grant would help purchase reliable dashboard cameras that will document each police officer’s public safety situation. Currently, the police department owns four cameras that hold an insufficient amount of data storage compared to the extent necessary. The police department needs upgraded dashboard cameras to provide high-definition recordings for documenting public interaction, officer training, public safety, and the overall reassurance for the community.
Excel Community Center
The Town of Excel strives to provide a meeting place for ball teams, community functions and family reunions to gather in a safe environment. The Community Center was in desperate need of tables and chairs. with the grant from Ala-Tom RC&D, we purchased 11 tables and 44 chairs.
” Take a Seat and Enjoy the Show”
Thanks to the help of Alabama Tom RC&D, the Conecuh County Jr. Cattlemen were able to purchase a portable set of bleachers that will be used from year to year. These bleachers which have the extra wide foot, side rails and even a middle rail that will allow all spectators an opportunity to enjoy the Pig, Chicken, Goat, and Steer and Heifer Show. Because these bleachers are portable, this will allow them to be transported to different events, regardless of the location.
